17-year-old Ciana Pelekai was crowned Miss Hawaii Teen America 2017 last March and went on to represent Hawaii in the Miss Teen America pageant in Los Angeles, California where she beat 40 other state titleholders and was crowned Miss Teen America 2017! She also took home the Judges Interview, Fun Fashion, Fitness and Evening Gown awards. Ciana is the first young woman from Hawaii to win Miss Teen America.

As Miss Teen America 2017 Ciana has traveled to Italy, Greece, New York, Texas and California. In June Ciana will be traveling to New Zealand and Australia where she will be making appearances at various schools promoting her platform “Sing Your Song” encouraging Teens to speak up against the fight against bullying and to not be afraid to achieve their dreams and aspirations through performing arts. She will then head to San Antonio, Texas in July to crown her successor.

Ciana is the daughter of Derrick and Misha Pelekai of Waianae, Oahu. She is currently a Senior at Radford High School and will be graduating in May. Later this year Ciana will be continuing her education at the American Musical & Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in Hollywood, California where she plans on obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performing Arts degree.
